Barsoom Arena

I´m a big John Carter of Mars fan; both of the novels and the movie which I thought it was outstanding. For ages now I wanted to create something within the same style and I had this image in my mind a lot of time. This was actually inspired by a book cover from the late 70s from one of the Edgar Rice Burroughs Mars John Carter novels - Chessmen of Mars - painted by Michael Wheelan which work was a major influence on me when i was growing up and so now this is something I did to capture that same feeling.
